Shared language for Savage Worlds
Working definitions so your table argues about choices, not vocabulary.
Trait talk should stay short. If a Setting renames a Benny-like currency, say so in session zero so Wild Cards spend on purpose.
- Benny
- Meta-currency for rerolls and narrative buys.
- Edge / Hindrance
- Character traits that define niche and drama.
- Wild Die
- Heroic extra die for Wild Cards.
- Exploding dice
- Aces that roll up for big swings.
- Dramatic Task
- Structured multi-roll scenes for heists and rituals.
- Quick Encounter
- Abstracted conflict resolution.
- Setting rule
- Optional dials that genre-tune the core.
- Ace
- Maximum face on a die that triggers an explode.

GM-tool and board-game crate neighbors help when your table blends miniatures, cards, and narrative toolkits.
Terms evolve. If your table uses a different gloss, write it into your house doc and tell newcomers which dictionary you are using. Shared language beats winning an etymology fight mid-scene.
When a word is edition-specific, say so out loud. Borrowing vocabulary across systems is fine; silent assumptions are what cause arguments.
